Connecting Culture and Climate Action
ICOMOS believes that culture is a missing link in climate action. Cultural heritage tells our collective human story, and cultural change has been at the heart of every major transition in human history. Culture is intricately linked to the history of climate change. ICOMOS believes that it is also central to addressing it.
Our Mission
The ICOMOS Climate Action Working Group is committed to seeing meaningful and sustainable climate action to protect global cultural heritage. Through education, training and knowledge exchange, the CAWG envisions a world where all heritage professionals are equipped to respond to the challenges of climate change in a people-centered and place-based way, centered on principles of climate justice and equity.
